We had a very wet winter in 2005. March turned warm and dry with no worries of frost. The rain storms resumed, at times very heavy, continuing well into spring. The weather settled into a somewhat cool summer, with some unseasonable rain in June. We had some heat spikes in September, which helped the grapes mature. |

Inky purple in the glass, this is a fabulous dessert wine. Ripe, dark berries are on the nose and in the palate. The structure is excellent, with soft tannins and well balanced acidity. The deep sweetness of the 2005 Syrah means it can be enjoyed alone, with cheeses, or paired with a wide variety of dessert courses, from a plate of fresh fruit to crème brûlée. The wine is unfined and unfiltered. Wonderful now, it will continue to benefit from aging for another 10 to 15 years. $22 PER BOTTLE (375ml) |
